#24 Morning Dance: Nurturing Routines for Your Well-Being

Starting your day with energy and vitality can significantly impact your optimism and resilience, especially during stressful times.

Before I started wrapping my head around topics like stress management, time management, resilience, and healthy work habits, my mornings would often pass by unnoticed. I’d get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, and head out to work.

Nowadays, I approach my mornings with much more mindfulness, understanding how they set the tone for the rest of my day. The way I start my mornings influences my energy levels, mental state, and ultimately, my productivity.

One of my preferred morning rituals is to begin with a dance. It’s a lively start to the day before I get into the more “serious” tasks. I believe that every song and its lyrics carry a message and something valuable for me to learn.

In this episode, I’ll share my top five morning dance songs (as of today) and the personal insights I’ve gained from them.

Here are the five songs:

  1. “Paint it Black” – Rolling Stones
  2. “So What?” – P!nk
  3. “Shake it Off” – Taylor Swift
  4. “Dance with Somebody” – Whitney Houston
  5. “How much is the fish?” – Scooter

Side note: I typically limit myself to just one song! 😀

As a small exercise for yourself, consider how your body and mood change after listening to music and moving for a few minutes. This can be your secret weapon against short-term frustration. So, turn on some music, dance, and experience how it can make a positive difference in your day, even if it’s just for a brief moment.
